About Author Tosombra Kimes
Tosombra always dreamed of becoming a writer, a teacher, and an actress. Growing up, she’d force her three younger sisters to play school with her. She would be the teacher and her sisters, the students, which often led to her making them role-play characters and scenes from her newest books. But, as you can see, she also wanted to be a director. The Princess Lizzie series came about after her daughter Xianne Alizabeth was born. Xianne’s vivacious and spunky personality led to the creation of Princess Lizzie. You see, Xianne was born with bilateral hearing loss, but this did not stop her from exploring the world and experiencing life, much like Princess Lizzie and many other kids in the world. Tosombra wants to make sure that Xianne and other kids, no matter their ability or disability, will see and have stories to follow that model and value their uniqueness.
